So we’ve bought a 1997 Freightliner school bus and are converting it to an RV with the intent to drive it back to Nicaragua. This will enable us to return with a number of large items that we have obtained during our time in the states. Once we arrive back on the island we live in the bus until we complete our house (as our previous living arrangements were fine for Trevor and I but we want something a little more finished for the baby). Once our house is completed the plan is to then turn the bus into a dormitory either for paying guests or volunteers. In the meantime, you can follow The Bus Conversion.
Before we owned the bus it was used to transport a local baseball team. They were called the Ocean State Waves and the bus features a baseball playing surfer on the side. Rather than remove the vinyl wrap we decided to leave it, as both surfing and baseball are popular sports in Nicaragua.
